Though Okinawan born Yamada Yuu only really entered the Japanese music scene in 2006, she had been active in Japanese entertainment for some time beforehand. Primarily a model, Yamada has appeared in many TV dramas and movies, as well as TV programs (most noteably on Minna no Terebi / Utawara Hot Hit 10). She started her career appearing primarily in commercials.
