Arashi (which means "storm" in Japanese) was put together by Johnny's Jimusho, which is famous for assembling and marketing boy groups who are from then on referred to as "Johnny's". They were assembled from a group called "Johnny's Juniors", who typically dance backup for established "Johnny's" groups until they are promoted into their own group (if they are at all).
