NOTES
There are several interesting things about this song. First of all, the lyrics are written from the prespective of a female. In the line "shiawase ichiban...", "shiawase" is sung in place of "kazoku" (family). I interpret this to mean that the guy in this put his family over her (on holidays and such). As for the line after that ("onna no buki"...) it basically means that nothing she did (even sexual things) ever really made him happy. In several lines in this song "kimi" is pronounced in place of "denwa". This means that now she thinks of the phone he gave her as him, since that's all he has to remember him by now. In the line "kokoro wa kare susuki" it literally means "my heart is dead miscanthus" (miscanthus meaning a type of tall Japanese grass). I figured my translation would sound a little bit better. Also (for those of you who don't know), the song titles and artists mentioned are real ones. The later is Utada Hikaru's "Automatic", and the former is "Nagai Yoru" by Chiharu.

Who's right? I noticed you too late
He's waving bye bye with one hand, getting into a red porsche
Talking on the DoCoMo F503i that you gave me when we first met
I never get a signal, I'm always outside the range
Your happiness was number one, I was number two, is that normal?
Even if I showed you a "concubine" you would still say "you're not going to do that are you?"

I was looking at you, I was always waiting
Around the clock; patiently and without tiring
I was looking at you, tonight I keep low
My heart is dead

I smell the same ciagarettes he smokes, remembrance~
Like a drama, someday I'll come around
I was always waiting, Happy end~

I can't return to that last tear filled request
Tonight, get me drunk on the street's neon and bourbon...
A tone deaf customer is singing Chiharu's "Long Night"
Hikki's "Automatic"
Is on the taxi radio

I was looking at you, I was always waiting
Around the clock; patiently and without tiring
I was looking at you, tonight I keep low
My heart is dead

I was looking at my email, I was always waiting
I tried to ask at the center
I was looking at you, tonight I keep low
My heart is dead
