It's suspected that "Magellan matsuri" (or "Magellan party/festival", take your pick) refers to one of two things: Either viewing parties held for the Magellanic Clouds (irregular dwarf galaxies visible from the southern hemisphere) or some sort of party held to celebrate Ferdinand Magellan, the famed explorer who was responsible for the first circumnavigation of the Earth. BOAC likely refers to the now defunct British Overseas Airways Corporation. In other words: That's not a seagull, it's a BOAC plane! |
Let's jump in the car
In a caramel sort of mood
To the rhythm that's about to burst
Listening to BBC on the radio
Along the coast
At a Magellan party
Dancing the hustle
That seagull flying by is a BOAC
On an American wharf
For some reason we're so nervous
Full speed in our bathing suits
And some liqueur in the pine grove right afterward
Let's go eat some crab
Let's go be shy
It's just too picturesque
This long, charming and happy beach
Let's go to the beach
Let's get in the car
The rhythm bursts open and we're in love mode
Day and night
Let's shorten the distance between us even more
Mine and my boyfriend's cellphones
Are going ring ring ring
That pelican looks so lonely
Flying so lightly over the waves
It's hard for everyone
That perfume's coming even from the fish
Let's go eat some crab
Let's go be practical
That's Harrison Ford over there on that bar stool
We're really lucky girls
Let's go be excited
Let's go cut through the wind
Let's run around to the rhythm
Let's go eat some crab
Let's go be shy
It's just too picturesque
This long, charming and happy beach
Let's go to the beach
Let's get in the car
It's like we're being lured away to the rhythm
The rhythm bursts open and we're in love mode
