| "BOM-BA-YE" refers to the theme music of two popular athletes: Muhammad Ali (Boxer) and Antonio Inoki (Japanese pro wrestler). Ali's theme song was the music that you hear in this song, and was called "Ali Bom-Ba-Ye". Ali later gave the music to Inoki, who used it in his wrestling career as "Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye". "Bom-Ba-Ye" itself means "Kill Him". This chant was started by a crowd in Zaire, and it stuck. This song, however, is a more direct cover of a song by Korean group SIDE B called "SB BOMBAYE". |
