Dealing with big events that are happening somewhere in the world

I feel a little bit like we've come a race of refined people
Night turns to dawn, and we're back to being the small masses

My desires are so far away, that even though I reach out my hand, it doesn't reach them
A sticky note in the catalog, the punchline is throwing it into the trash can

In haste, I search for colors
Even though they're all blotted together, there's gold, silver, purple
