When I look up to the sky: the stars, look, they're shining
There are all sorts of lights up there, just like the people of this world
Amongst all of those, I want to shine especially bright
I close my eyes and make a promise in my heart, entrusting my dreams to a shooting star

Here, in the usual park
I have a good view of the night, from atop the slide on the playground
For a long time now, this has been my box seat
Whenever I'm troubled I come here
The dreams that I was in the midst of back then
Still haven't come true
There are days when I complain
Saying things like: Maybe this is as far as I go
But I remember with glee
Searching for a shooting star in the starry sky
The things that I wish for now
Haven't changed from back when I was a kid

Creeping into the school building at night with my friends
With lowered voices we climbed over the fence
On the grounds that look different than they in the afternoon
The place we were headed for was an ocean called "the pool"
We didn't have any bathing suits; everyone was nude
Someone let out a strange call and we dove in
The sound of water splashing resounded out through the curtain of night
Everyone got in together at the same time
We just floated there; looking up at the sky
Staring up at the stars right before our eyes, we talked about our many dreams
And we searched for that shooting star

There are a countless number of stars in the sky that we looked up to
And even now that hasn't changed
My dreams are still eternally crazy
And they're shining amazingly bright, just like those stars
