I leave town, riding on a bus
I jump on as though I'm being followed
Racing off to a city that I don't know

I just chase the scenery that's beyond the darkness
It's as though I don't remember that I've left you behind
I trace the outlines of the night with my eyes

This road knows my present and my past
I'm like a child walking to the sound of hands

I intently run to where the light calls out
What is it that should be waiting for me up ahead, where I'm going to arrive?
I won't stop, so that I can be myself

The days that had no better replacements jut repeated themselves
Nodding appropriately, saying appropriate things
I wonder what you're doing right about now?

Laughing foolishly, that's what happiness is
That's right, when that never changing voice
Sounds out

To where a light is on, to the city that you're waiting in
I'm rushing there right now, coming back like this
What should the first thing be that I say to you, when we see each other?

That's right! I head intendly toward where a light is on
Because your smile is waiting up ahead, where I'm going to arrive
