This group was formed in Osaka in 2007. The name combines the first letter of the word "four" (there are four members), the first three letters of the word "lump", and the word "pool".

Though the group officially became flumpool in 2007, the group actually started in 2002 as "309". It was originally made up of Yamamura, Sakai and Amakawa (who were childhood friends) and was an acoustic group. The name would later be changed to "cube", under which they independently released 4 CD-R recordings of themselves. On 01/13/2007 they would change the name to "flumpool", and were introduced to Ogura through a friend.
