Information:
mink is South Korean, and her real name is I Mink. She came to Japan during her first year of middle school due to her mother's job. She would return to South Korea for her first year of high school.

In 1999 she would sign up with an entertainment office called Star Network Asia, but was unable to make a real debut. She would become a jeans fashion model, but eventually quit that as well due to being too short. After trying to further her musical career online in Korea, Avex heard a demo tape of hers in early spring 2004 and picked her up. That summer she would appear at Avex's a-nation event as her Japanese on-stage debut.

mink is a Christian, and the primary motivator in her becoming a singer was that her voice had the ability to make others happy.
