Information:
BEGIN was formed in Okinawa Prefecture, Ishigakijima. The three members were childhood friends, and when the group was first formed they had planned to play hard rock music. When it was pointed out that they didn't do it very well, they switched to more of a blusey style.

On 09/02/1989, BEGIN appeared as entry number 6 on the TBS audition program "Heisei meibutsu TV ikasu!! Band tengoku" (or "ikaten" for short). They performed "koishikute" and earned high praises from the judges.

In 1990 they would make their professional debut with "koishikute", which would also be used in a Nissan commercial.

BEGIN is also well known for their series of album entitled "ichigo ichie". These are collections of self-covers, Western songs and standards that are arranged in a very easy to play way on guitar and sanshin (an Okinawan musical instrument, a precursor of the Japanese shamisen).
