Origa
Information:
Origa is a Russian born singer/songwriter. Her full name is Ol'ga Vital'evna Yakovleva.
Origa entered a foreign exchange program at the college she was attending, and went to her sister city Sapporo. She did a home-stay for 3 months. She performed in many concerts, and made many TV appearances. While doing this she was scouted, and would debut in 1992 on a local Sapporo indies label.
After this she would sign a contract with ROAD&SKY, to make her major label debut in 1994. In 1995 she would collaborate with famed Japanese rocker Hamada Shougo on the Kobe earthquake charity song "waga kokoro no Maria", as the main vocalist.
Since her debut she had been going back and forth between Japan and Russia, but finally settled in Japan in 1996. She primarily composes and performs songs for commercials and anime series now, sometimes working with well known composer Kanno Yoko.
