Ouyang Feifei
Information:
OuYang Feifei was born in Taiwan. She began her musical career in 1967 as a singer in a restaurant theater located in Taipei. After coming to Japan to sightsee, she would make her Japanese debut in 1971, much to the disapproval of those she knew in Taiwan. That very same year, she would win a Japanese record award for best new artist.
In 1972, she would be the first foreign solo artist to appear in Japan's annual Kouhaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest) on New Year's Eve. She was especially popular amongst the Japanese because she would speak in such brief and simple Japanese when she would appear on variety programs.
