Kobayashi Sachiko is an enka (Japanese ballads) performer, who is very well known for her incredibly extravagant on stage costumes. She makes an appearance each year on NHK's big end of year music program, kouhaku uta gassen. And each year, her costume is just as large and extravagant was it was the last, if not more so! Some of the costumes have even been known to light up!

She has also appeared in many film roles as geisha, female ninjas and thieves, princesses, and even gangsters.
