Abe was one of the original five members of popular girl pop group Morning Musume, and is still a member of producer Tsunku's Hello! Project. Of course she has since graduated from Morning Musume, and become involved in a solo career, as well as one-shot H!P side projects like Nochiuranatsumi and Def.Diva. In 2004, Abe was temporarily suspended in her activities for plagiarism in her song writing efforts. After many hefty apologies, she came back onto the scene in early 2005.
