In April 2002, she entered a talent search entitled "Super Starlight Contest". Before entering this contest, she did a lot of small-time stage performances, by herself, with no backup band. After her debut in 2003, she participated in Tak Matsumoto's (he's the guitarist for popular rock band B'z) compilation cover album of old Jpop classics called "The Hit Parade".
