Toshi
Information:
Toshi was the vocalist for now defunct pioneer visual kei rock group, X-Japan. He had been friends with band founder, and drummer/pianist/song writer Yoshiki since childhood. After the band's breakup in 1997, and even slightly before, Toshi began singing in a solo career, with music that was much more mainstream and pop. He also worked with a group called the Nighthawks to write and perform a lot of his solo music.
After X-Japan's dissolvement, there were many rumors and such going around about him having joined a cult. These rumors were later confirmed true by Toshi, after he did in fact make a slight emergence back into the public eye in 2004. Though not nearly as active in the music industry as he used to be, he still remains active in a very non-mainstream sort of way. His releases are distributed by a very small label, and are not really sold at all to mass-markets.
